The pack work as designed and works well. The only issue I had is when I first set it up it wants to be at the tilt of the original mount. After that it works perfectly. It is worth the money you pay and very handy to have especially when you need internet guess what you have it. Thank for your product it will get used for sure.
I am so happy with my Star Batt! I am currently on day 7 of almost continuous use on a long trip, working remotely, plus streaming shows. It charges quickly (few hours), and has lasted OVER 24 hours on a single charge with moderate use (mostly emails, but opening art files and photos, up/downloading same + streaming Netflix).
Customer service is top notch. Fast reply, friendly folks. I can’t recommend this product enough.
The case is very well built and fits the Star Link Mini very well.
My issues is with reception through the case. The signal strength of the Star Link in the case is about 30% lower than when the Str link is in an open air position.
Response from Star-Batt
Hi Scott,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review—we really appreciate your feedback and your support.
Regarding your observation about reduced reception through the case, I wanted to share some context from our testing. We’ve conducted extensive signal strength and speed tests using radio-transparent materials, and the data consistently shows no measurable degradation in performance due to the presence of the case itself.
Signal strength and speed can fluctuate minute-to-minute based on a variety of environmental factors, even in open air. In fact, in some tests we’ve observed higher speeds with the dish inside the case compared to outside—not because the case improves signal, but because of the natural variability in satellite performance and environmental interference.
To help clarify this, I’ll be uploading a video in the coming days demonstrating these results in real time, so customers can see how the system performs with and without the case under identical conditions.
We truly value your input and want to ensure you’re getting the best possible experience. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns—we’re here to help.
Love this! High speed internet for 24 hours anywhere in the world. Charged for 5 hours, plugged in Mini and bam, up and running. I help with disaster relief and this means when everyone if off line, we will not be.
*Note: Because of the battery size, you cannot take or stow this due to FAA rules. Nothing against Star Batt, it’s just too big a battery. I saved the box and foam frame and ship ground to get to a location close.
This Star-Batt case has been game changer. Going off-grid camping. Has a Ham radio operator. Looking forward using Star-Batt for Summer ARRL Field Day. For also running QRP radios.
